About The Position

Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We are seeking an experienced Radiographic Technician to provide assist physicians in performing diagnostic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images. Responsibilities include:

Requirements

• Completion of an appropriate radiographic technician program. Certification preferred.
• Current CPR certification at hire, or earned within 90 days of employment
• Strong communication skills, ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language

Responsibilities

• Performs radiology services for procedures utilizing c-arm and mini-c-arm support during surgical procedures
• Assures that all radiology equipment receives annual inspection by a physicist
• Maintains competence in utilization of c-arm and mini-c-arm and portable x-ray
• Ensures that dosimeter badges are sent for evaluation of radiation exposure at the appropriate intervals
• Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures
• Monitors radiation safety processes in all areas of the center
• Identifies equipment and supply needs to ensure high quality radiology service
• Performs on-going monitoring of x-ray gowns and shields to ensures that they are intact and able to provide protection for physicians and staff
• Maintains all records for inspections and radiation monitoring
