About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our imaging team at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! This is a casual position that will work as needed by the department. We have day/evening/overnight/weekend shifts available. Required to work 2 rotating holidays per year. If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11pm – 7am, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $8.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. The Hospital Radiologic Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging in a hospital setting. Responsible for providing quality age-appropriate patient care for inpatients and outpatients according to established standards of practice and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The hospital radiologic technologist supports all imaging procedures, surgical cases, fluoroscopy studies, portable x-ray, and general x-ray performed in the hospital. Provides assist in the opening of the supplies/equipment for surgical and special procedure cases as well as responding to codes, trauma activations and other emergent needs for imaging in an acute care environment.

Requirements

  • 0 to 1 year performing radiology services
  • ARRT Certification/Registration
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

  • B.S./B.A.
  • 3 years experience as a technologist in a hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient care
  • Performs examinations
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
  • Ensures patient data integrity
  • Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner
  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
