About The Position

The Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a Board-Certified Breast Imaging Radiologist to provide onsite diagnostic and evaluative services for Veterans. This specialized role is critical for the early detection and management of breast diseases, including breast cancer. The physician will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating with surgeons, oncologists, and primary care doctors to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • Board Certification: Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.
  • Training: Fellowship training in Breast Imaging
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
  • Certifications: Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA

Responsibilities

  • Interpret mammograms, ultrasounds, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and other imaging modalities to identify abnormalities within breast tissue.
  • Guide biopsy procedures and perform breast specialty radiology procedures as required.
  • Provide essential consultations to clarify diagnostic findings, discuss potential treatment paths, and alleviate patient concerns.
  • Provide review of orders and next-day patient cases for minimum of two hours daily when needed.
  • Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow up and clinical consultation regarding complications of radiologic procedures.
