The Radiology Tech Assistant assists the technologists and physician with duties associated with image acquisition, patient care, & clerical duties. The Radiology Tech Assistant supports the goals of the department and hospital by through excellent customer relations skills. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent (required)

Nice To Haves

  • One year in a hospital and previous clerical experience (preferred)
  • Medical terminology (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Processes exposed radiographic cassettes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Able to utilize HIS/RIS/PACS in order to provide best patient care.
  • Retrieves images and reports as requested by ULH customers in a timely manner.
  • Copies/prints radiographs as requested in a timely manner.
  • Answers phone using appropriate customer relations skills and routes calls to appropriate location as needed.
  • Processes requisitions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensures work area is kept clean, neat and orderly, and stocked with supplies.
  • Maintains an ethical and professional relationship with ULH customers.
  • Assists technologist in any manner that expedites patient examination to include transporting, lifting/moving patients, and completing exams.
  • Ensures linen hampers are emptied at end of the respective shift.
  • Attends and participates in department staff meetings.
  • Assists in orienting new employees.
  • Takes an active role in gaining or maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities.
  • Presents a positive image of the hospital and department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
