About The Position

The Radiology Aide relieves the Radiology Technologist of such clerical duties as billing, scheduling, phones, typing forms, filing, logging daily patient work, uploading prior exams, digitizing prior exams, making cd’s for patients, mailing reports, and other duties as needed.. This position description is intended to identify some of the duties and responsibilities of this position. MODOC MEDICAL CENTER reserves the right to modify, supplement, delete or augment the duties and responsibilities specified in this position description, at MODOC MEDICAL CENTER’S sole and absolute discretion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification: 6 months to obtain.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
  • Proficient computer, typing and phone skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work with others, at all levels within the organization, and collaborate effectively.
  • Above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be a team player to all departments, follow HIPPA guidelines, respectful of all other staff members, considerate of other people’s time, and accountable for work output.
  • Ability to hold one’s self accountable for the quality of work and quantity of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Professional behavior is demonstrated always, both when on duty and as a representative of the hospital outside of normal work hours.

  • Provides assistance to the Technologist as needed.
  • Works unsupervised with little or no assistance.
  • Has computer knowledge to run basic computer programs, as well as being able to learn radiology software programs.
  • Complete daily billing in a timely fashion.
  • Schedules patients effectively and gives proper instructions to the patients.
  • Must be kind and courteous to all patients at all times, with no exception.
  • Possesses ability to multitask.
  • Stocks linens, cleans exam rooms, participates in quality control and ordering of supplies.
  • Has legible handwriting in order to be read by all staff members and co-workers.
  • Must be willing and able to follow directions and to leave directions for others that can be easily understood.
  • Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and professional.
  • Completes annual education requirements if applicable.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Wears identification while on duty.
  • Leaves radiology badge at work.
  • Attends annual evaluation and participates actively in this process.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.
  • Attends all meetings as appropriate.
  • Exhibits the mission, ethics and goals of Modoc Medical Center in the performance of job duties.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
  • Is involved with personnel, visitors, and government agencies, etc., when necessary.
  • Must function independently, be flexible, possess personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with other personnel, clients and support agencies.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
