Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0.01 Work Shift: Days/Evenings (United States of America) Work Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00am - 7:30pm Work Location: Berkeley Hospital (Summerville) Additional Information: Students must have completed all prerequisites and have started their core radiology classes. 1st year students in radiology strongly preferred. Job Summary: Following established protocol and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, Student Imaging Technologists will learn to and perform procedures for the direct results of interpretation. Requirements

  • Education for Students in Diagnostic Radiology: Must be a student of an AMA approved school of a Radiologic Technology program.
  • Education for Students in CT Radiology: Must be a student of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Education for Students in Sonography: Must be a student of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and have sat for and passed the SPI registry; or a senior student in last semester.
  • Experience: None.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
  • Primary Source Verification:
  • Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to perform exams to produce satisfactory diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Other: Requires a mature individual who projects a professional and business-like appearance. Must maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information.
  • Contacts: Frequent personal contact with patients, staff, physicians, and employees.
  • Work Demands/Environment: Frequent standing, walking. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying, pushing or pulling, up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant reaching with hands/arms. Frequent talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Frequent exposure to risk of radiation. Intermittent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Intermittent exposure to risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Quiet to moderate noise level in work area. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on the needs of the department.
