About The Position

At Meritus Health’s Urgent Care clinics, diagnostic imaging is essential to rapid, accurate care. As Lead Radiologic Technologist, you’ll oversee daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring high-quality imaging, efficient workflows, and a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff. This hands-on leadership role combines technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities, including staffing coordination, equipment oversight, and process improvement. This position is ideal for a seasoned technologist who thrives in fast-paced outpatient settings and is ready to lead with precision, professionalism, and purpose.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
  • ARRT certification in Radiography required
  • State of Maryland Radiologic Technologist license required
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification required, in compliance with Meritus Health policy
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, and radiation safety
  • Understanding of radiographic physics and medical terminology
  • Ability to determine exposure factors and imaging sequences for optimal results
  • Skill in evaluating image quality and adjusting techniques as needed
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment during patient care
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staffing, workflow, and daily operations of the radiology department under the direction of the Practice Manager
  • Activate and follow up on equipment repairs and maintenance needs
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with state, federal, and professional standards
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring safe and efficient use
  • Assemble and assess relevant patient data, including clinical history, to support accurate imaging
  • Review clinical requisitions and verify imaging orders for completeness and accuracy
  • Evaluate radiographic images for positioning, technique, and diagnostic quality
  • Identify, assess, and resolve technical or procedural issues to support continuous improvement
  • Adapt techniques as needed to enhance departmental performance and stay current with best practices
