Our Digital Technology (DT) organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe can communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support Raytheon ’s D T infrastructures around the world. High Performance Computing Apprentices collaborate with a team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified and Unclassified information system s . In this role you will be paired with members of our HPC team to learn about this role and apply your school learning to a practical technology work setting while attending classes at Pima CC towards your Associates degree. You will be required to show proof of your enrollment at Pima CC, and upload your transcript with your resume upon submission to this position opening. Upon completion of this program, you will have the ability to maintain a secure, cost-efficient High Performance Computing system across various classified programs supporting Raytheon’s largest modeling and simulation environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems or other STEM field of study at Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ.
  • You will be required to complete specific curriculum at Pima CC if selected for this position.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • An active DoD c learance .
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems .
  • Working experience with High Performance Computing job schedulers.
  • Working experience with troubleshooting computer hardware.
  • Knowledge of NAS or SAN technologies .
  • Knowledge of VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX i virtual computing methods ( i.e. Nutanix, Hyper - V, etc . ) .
  • Basic Windows and Linux scripting .
  • Experience DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Centrify, Backup and Recovery enterprise suites .

Responsibilities

  • Use command-line tools to manage and maintain Information Systems effectively.
  • Install, configure, and support software applications requested by end users to meet operational needs.
  • Create and refine documentation, training materials, and advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • Pursue a degree Computer Information Systems at Pima Community College while working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Must work on site at a Raytheon facility in Tucson, Arizona
  • Learning to manage DT HPC systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red hat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Understanding and gaining knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Manage Information Systems by using the command line.
  • Learning to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • Learning troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity, to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Gaining an understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies.
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Learning to team with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Developing documentation and training material on and refine advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification)
  • Must have be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
  • The selected applicant will if necessary, apply for a US Dept of Defense clearance via Raytheon Security Central Processing in Tucson, after offer accept, and will be able to start, but will work in unclassified areas until the clearance is granted.
