About The Position

At Personalis, we are transforming the active management of cancer through breakthrough personalized testing. We aim to drive a new paradigm for cancer management, guiding care from biopsy through the life of the patient. Our highly sensitive assays combine tumor-and-normal profiling with proprietary algorithms to deliver advanced insights even as cancer evolves over time. Our products are designed to detect minimal residual disease (MRD) and recurrence at the earliest timepoints, enable selection of targeted therapies based on ultra-comprehensive genomic profiling, and enhance biomarker strategy for drug development. Personalis is based in Fremont, California. Summary: Personalis is seeking a Reagent Associate 1 to support the production of reagents for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) clinical diagnostics. In this vital role, you will be responsible for formulating, packaging, and conducting QC testing on reagents while adhering to GLP and strict SOP compliance. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to assist in process improvement and scale-up projects to drive sustainable growth. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, organized, and goal-driven individual, who will have a direct impact on the quality of our clinical products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field, plus 0-2+ years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Knowledge in formulations and molecular biology techniques, with preferred experience in the areas of sample prep and NGS is desireable.
  • Experience as a bench scientist in a manufacturing, development, or quality control laboratory environment, with lab automation system experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with additional experience in LIMS, PLM and/or ERP is a plus.
  • Previous GLP, GMP, and/or GCLP laboratory work experience is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
  • Detail oriented and adaptable
  • Proven ability to excel in a high-growth environment, remaining proactive and solution-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and package complex reagents according to approved procedures using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Perform quality control activities for incoming raw materials and reagents to verify reagent quality
  • Work with automation equipment (e.g. liquid handling, etc.)
  • Ensure full compliance with GLP standards through meticulous documentation.
  • Perform LIMS entry and inspection records for released batches of reagents for use in the RUO/CGLP/Clinical Operations laboratories
  • Correct and revise reagent batch records or associated SOPs, as needed
  • Participate in scale-up initiatives and process improvement projects.
  • Support the upkeep, orderliness, and cleanliness of the reagent laboratory and equipment maintenance
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues related to reagent production
  • Other responsibilities, as required.
