About The Position

Position Overview: Dutch Bros is looking for an individual to join our Development (CRED) team in Construction or Design for the summer Emerging Talent Program. You may have noticed that Dutch is starting to spread across the country; ever wonder how we do it? As part of the CRED team, you will have the inside scoop on where Dutch is building and what new areas we're moving into. You will see how our teams find these new locations, and learn about the steps of how we turn a patch of dirt or an empty parking lot into one of our awesome shops! For the duration of the program (June 1st - July 31st) housing will be provided, however reliable transportation is needed to and from the program. Additionally, the program is rooted in professional development, full-time employment conversion is not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Student currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Architecture, Design, Construction, Engineering or a related study
• Self-motivated with a strong team-oriented work ethic
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Have to be able to meet strong deadlines
• Curious learner who is able to ask questions and remove roadblocks
• Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
• Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings
• Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
• Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
• Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
• Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.
• Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.
• Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn Dutch Bros Site Selection, Design, Construction, and Shop Opening process: Learn about what our Dutch Bros Real Estate team looks for when finding a cool, new shop location (key demographics, lease negotiations, etc.)
• Foundational learning of prototype architecture plans and construction management processes
• Learn about the overall Dutch Bros development (aka new shop build) process (understanding project milestones, city/county roles in new shops, construction timelines, etc)
• Learn what other internal Dutch Bros teams and roles are involved with opening a new shop (and maintaining it after opening)
• Support the Design & Construction Teams: Participate in meetings with project coordinators and managers, architects and engineers, local government officials, and internal teams to learn new shop opening requirements and process
• Assist Designers, Project Coordinators or Managers as needed
• Learn pipeline management skills with weekly pipeline review and vendor reports for project updates/information and dates (and input information into project management system as needed)
• Support our teams in developing better shops for our Broistas
• Other duties as assigned
