About The Position

Continental Properties is looking for a Real Estate Paralegal to join our team at our Home Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. Continental Properties is a national leading developer of multifamily apartment complexes. You will report to our Legal Development Director and work with our in-house attorneys to facilitate activities associated with commercial real estate development transactions. You will assist with transactions from the initial letter of intent through closing of the purchase, financing, development, stabilization and refinancing or sale of the property. Continental Properties embraces a hybrid working environment and you can work remotely up to 2 days a week with supervisor approval. #LI-Hybrid Essential Responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years paralegal experience in a commercial real estate environment either at a law firm, in-house law department or title company
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate development, due diligence, and closing transactions, including extensive experience in title and survey review
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work, handle deadline pressures and sensitive information
  • Ability to work well individually and also as part of a team
  • Proficient in adopting and utilizing pre-existing and new technologies to drive efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Analyze title commitments, analyze surveys, and negotiate title exceptions and endorsements with title companies
  • Prepare closing checklists and coordinate closing of real estate transactions
  • Draft agreement, closing documents, abstracts, escrow instructions and other legal documents
  • Analyze legal documents and prepare summaries
  • Prepare critical date checklists for purchase agreements and monitor all important date events
  • Collaborate with internal legal counsel, development teams and external title companies and law firms
  • Conduct typical post-closing work, including organization of closing book index and construction closeout tasks
  • Support ongoing enhancements in legal workflows
