The Software Sensors: Airborne Radar & Space Software Center is made up of multiple departments located across the country. The Electronic Warfare Software department within that center develops real-time embedded software for multiple platforms including military aircraft and other complex airborne systems. Our precision software and firmware integrate operating systems, device drivers, networking, and control software to bring together radio frequency signals, avionics, and flight control processing features to complete the mission. This position is within the Software Sensors: Airborne Radar & Space Center of the Software Organization, and is an onsite role located in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • This position is an entry level position open to candidates with 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding Internships).
  • Experience with C, C++, or C#.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, systems software design, operating systems and architectures.
  • Knowledge of assembly, C/C++ programming, structured programming concepts.
  • Experience with device drivers and communication protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, I2C, UART).
  • Experience with Real Time OS concepts
  • Experience with embedded software
  • Experience with Unit Test Frameworks and Unit Testing.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design and Unified Model Language.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and leaders in a team environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools.
  • Develop new work products or enhancements of existing applications and systems.
  • Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
  • Collaborate with our chief engineers, and other disciplines within Engineering.
  • Work on difficult problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
