About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grocery Store Receiver to support store operations by managing incoming deliveries, maintaining an organized backroom, and ensuring products are accurately received and processed. This role is essential to keeping store departments stocked and operations running efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and General computer knowledge
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in receiving docks, stockrooms, and varying temperatures (coolers/freezers as needed).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and reconcile all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) shipments.
  • Verify deliveries against invoices and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Follow Caraluzzi's Receiving Guidelines and store receiving procedures.
  • Maintain organization of the backroom, including storage racks, pallets, and staging areas.
  • Ensure products are properly stored and accessible for store departments.
  • Manage refuse removal, including dumpster pickups and operating cardboard and plastic balers.
  • Maintain organization of exterior receiving areas (pallets, crates, and vendor pickup items).
  • Process deliveries using the ECRS Receiving System and provide accurate documentation to Accounts Payable.
  • Identify and process unsellable merchandise (damaged, expired, or incorrect items) following Caraluzzi's Reclaim & Swell procedures.
  • Coordinate vendor pickups and reconcile DSD and warehouse credits and returns.
  • Order and maintain essential store operational supplies (trash bags, paper towels, baler wire, baler tags, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized backroom and receiving area.
  • Other duties as assigned
