About The Position

At SanMar, the work you do makes a difference. POSITION SUMMARY: A receiver must strive to safely and efficiently unload trailers and accurately read case labels to correctly palletize product. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manually unload trailers. Read case labels accurately. Palletize case product for put away. Read and verify palletized product against the put away sheets. REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION: Must follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require; rotate to other receiving functions as needed. Maintain a safe, neat and clean work area by adhering to SanMar’s safety regulations. Willing to clean while working, and ensure that the trailers and receiving work space is clean daily before leaving your department or shift ending. Efficiently work independently and on a team. Welcome and help new employees in a positive manner, as required. Assist in building a positive and productive work environment. Mandatory overtime may be required which could include weekend work. Perform other duties as assigned when required. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Education preferred but not required. Comprehend oral and written instructions. Should be able to read, write, and have sufficient ability to identify colors, sizes, quantity, label and SKU information. Must have basic math skills in counting and quantity. Strong attention to detail. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to walk and stand. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Basic literacy is necessary for daily paperwork. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is required to work near conveyor systems and around powered lift equipment. There is exposure to dust and extreme changes in temperature throughout the year. Employee must be able to handle stress that is involved in meeting strenuous customer deadlines, working in high volume areas, be flexible and able to interact with employees at all levels Why Work at SanMar?
