About The Position

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming aircraft parts, components, materials, and tooling comply with applicable airworthiness standards, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company manuals, and manufacturer requirements prior to release for maintenance use or placement into inventory. This position plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, traceability, and quality control within the Part 135/145 operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of aviation experience.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), particularly Parts 43, 65, 135, and 145.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, illustrated parts catalogs (IPC), engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of aviation experience.
  • Aviation-related training or technical education.
  • Prior Quality Control (QC) or Receiving Inspection experience strongly.
  • Experience in a Part 135 or Part 145 environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP or inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual inspections of all incoming aircraft parts, components, consumables, and materials.
  • Verify part numbers, serial numbers, nomenclature, quantities, and condition.
  • Inspect for shipping damage, shelf-life limitations, and proper packaging requirements.
  • Review and validate all required documentation, including but not limited to: FAA Form 8130-3 (Authorized Release Certificate) Certificates of Conformance (C of C) Airworthiness Approval Tags Traceability documentation
  • Ensure documentation complies with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company manuals, and repair station procedures.
  • Confirm proper signatures, dates, and approval authority.
  • Verify conformity with applicable: Airworthiness Directives (ADs) Service Bulletins (SBs) Manufacturer technical data Approved parts lists
  • Ensure parts are eligible for installation under Part 135 and Part 145 requirements.
  • Properly tag, stamp, label, or segregate parts as accepted, quarantined, or rejected.
  • Ensure correct entry into inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Maintain segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, and scrap materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Identify and document non-conforming, suspect, unapproved, or damaged materials.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality, or the Director of Maintenance/Quality to resolve discrepancies.
  • Initiate internal corrective action processes when required.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records in accordance with company and regulatory retention requirements.
  • Ensure traceability documentation is preserved and properly filed.
  • Verify calibration documentation for tools and equipment returned from calibration vendors.
  • Confirm calibration status and proper entry into tracking systems.
