About The Position

The Receiving/Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound shipments in accordance with company guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role plans and schedules delivery appointments in coordination with the Sr. Manager of Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Quality Control (QC), and Inventory Control. The Supervisor ensures timely inventory movements, accurate receiving, and raw material picking to support production operations. This position works cross-functionally to resolve operational, inventory, and quality issues while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). The role also includes supervising, training, and developing team members; managing resources based on workload fluctuations; maintaining inventory integrity; and implementing inventory management strategies to improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience, including training and performance management.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, ERP systems such as D365).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
  • Forklift certification and familiarity with material handling equipment required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility regularly.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Open to cross-training and skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and obtain approval for all delivery appointments.
  • Receive product according to OPM guidelines, including proper unloading, AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspections, and physical verification against documentation.
  • Electronically process subcontracted and direct deliveries; repack subcontracted items as needed.
  • Ensure all deliveries are processed and received within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Stage inbound shipments in designated areas for QC inspection.
  • Maintain inbound dock organization and perform bin consolidation to optimize space.
  • Ensure timely put-away of received products and accurate entry into the warehouse management system (WMS/D365).
  • Monitor daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain records of inventory variances, adjustments, scrap, and location profiles.
  • Investigate discrepancies, document root causes (ICAR), and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor aging, non-moving, and discontinued inventory.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventories to maintain optimal accuracy levels.
  • Resolve allocation errors to prevent delays in sales order releases.
  • Review weekly inventory reports from 3PL warehouses.
  • Prepare documentation for third-party audits.
  • Ensure raw material picking is accurate and completed on time to support production.
  • Provide status updates and adjust to schedule changes as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with SCM, QC, Production, and Inventory teams regarding inventory or quality concerns.
  • Collaborate across departments on inventory-related projects and inquiries.
  • Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and the Inbound Routing Guide.
  • Input daily KPI data and provide monthly KPI analysis.
  • Design and implement inventory management strategies to streamline processes and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Utilize D365 to generate reports and assign tasks.
  • Supervise, train, and cross-train inventory staff.
  • Monitor employee skill development and maintain training records.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Allocate resources effectively based on workload demands.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards, including 6S procedures.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure proper shutdown of dock doors, lights, equipment, and systems at shift end.
  • Drive team performance to meet departmental goals and recommend continuous improvements.
