About The Position

RECEIVING / SMALL PACKAGING LEAD Des Plaines, IL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Coordinate daily receiving and small‑packaging activities, assigning tasks based on workload and team capabilities Train new and existing team members on receiving processes, small‑packaging procedures, equipment operation, documentation, and safety protocols Perform receiving functions including unloading trucks/containers, verifying counts and documentation, inspecting materials, and routing inventory to proper locations Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment to move, store, and stage materials and packaged product Complete accurate receiving and inventory transactions in the ERP system (Epicor), including labeling and documenting quality, quantities, and dimensions Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas while promoting strong safety practices and responding to safety‑related issues Serve as a backup to the Warehouse Supervisor by providing performance feedback, monitoring adherence to policies, and escalating issues as needed POSITION REQUIRMENTS: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent 3+ years of warehouse or material‑handling experience, including prior forklift operation Ability to obtain and maintain internal forklift certification Strong attention to detail with the ability to work safely, quickly, and accurately Ability to read and complete documentation in English; basic math skills required Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with basic problem‑solving and decision‑making skills PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Prior leadership experience and advanced forklift operating experience Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Schedule – Tuesday-Saturday, First Shift – 6AM-2:30PM Works production and warehouse operations non-climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels and prolonged periods standing, walking, and sitting while driving industrial vehicles Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grab, and climb stairs Must wear required PPE in the designated operations areas Compensation: $21.50 p/h This Job Description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee and may be revised at any time by the Company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of warehouse or material‑handling experience, including prior forklift operation
