About The Position

The Receptionist will greet, assist, and provide direction and information to clients, visitors, and other guests of the organization.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of related work experience or a combination of completed education and/or related work experience equal to two (2) years is required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Able to effectively handle confidential and proprietary information
  • Communication – able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job
  • Customer Service – ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty, demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills
  • Detail Oriented - Proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ethics – able to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job-related actions
  • Organization & Time Management – able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks related to the job to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames
  • Systems & Software - proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients, visitors, and guests in a friendly manner; determine the purpose of each person’s visit and direct them to the appropriate location.
  • Accept, screen and route telephone calls, directing inquiries as appropriate and/or providing information; Take detailed messages when desired party is unavailable.
  • Act as backup to cover Receptionist at 29 West 56 office (across the street)
  • Receive mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries, and sort and distribute items to appropriate associates.
  • Partner with Facilities and Housekeeping to ensure maintenance, facilities, and housekeeping requests are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Provide assistance to the HR team as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
