About The Position

Holy Spirit Parish in Brighton is now accepting resumes for a part-time (8 hours per week) Receptionist. This is a non-exempt position (hourly) required to work one day per week and reports to the Parish Secretary. General Summary: As the first person of contact for visitors and parishioners at the Parish Office, the Receptionist is committed to supporting the mission of our parish: To know, love and serve the Lord and to draw others to Him. This person creates a welcoming and inviting environment and assists with various administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred, minimum: High school graduate
  • Experience: Minimum of two years experience in an office environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google/Gmail.
  • Be a Spirit-filled disciple of Jesus Christ, actively practicing their Catholic faith.
  • Be committed to growing in holiness through daily prayer and interior conversion.
  • Seek growth in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
  • Be a team player who is approachable, affable, and winsome.
  • Be proficient in Google Office Suite functions and Microsoft Office.
  • Pass a background check and attend local training for the protection of children and youth.
  • Some weekend and evening work may be required.
  • Physical demands include walking, standing, sitting, stooping, and occasionally lifting boxes or bags that weigh up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and refer visitors to the appropriate ministers, services, or agencies.
  • Receive and place telephone calls, type memos and other types of written communication, and process incoming mail & packages.
  • Oversee the timely opening and secure closing of the office.
  • Assist with maintenance of office record-keeping and filing systems.
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
  • Communicate via email with staff and parishioners
  • Assist with the management of office supply inventory.
  • Coordinate volunteer programs as needed.
  • Maintain and review electronic security door schedule and monitor security cameras.
  • Maintain parish calendars and schedule usage of parish facilities.
  • Order facility, sacristy, and liturgy supplies for various departments
  • Coordinate use of keys and/or fobs for facilities
  • Assist Parish Secretary in other related tasks as needed.
