Recovery Cafe Kitchen Associate
About The Position

We’re looking for a Recovery Café Kitchen Associate who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and is passionate about creating a warm, nourishing experience for others. As the Kitchen Associate, you’ll help power the daily operations of the Recovery Café by supporting food service, maintaining a clean and welcoming space, and engaging with members and volunteers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and communities
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Nice To Haves
- Lived experience with recovery or connection to Recovery Café/Recovery Support Services
- Experience in food service, hospitality, or kitchen environments
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Certified Peer Counselor or CCAR Recovery Coach certification
Responsibilities
- Assist with the pickup and transport of food donations and supplies
- Prepare and serve meals for lunch, latte hours, and special events
- Maintain food inventory and ensure proper storage and handling
- Keep kitchen, barista, and café areas clean, organized, and welcoming
- Foster a culture of Radical Hospitality with caring accountability
- Support and guide members and volunteers in kitchen and café activities
- Communicate café guidelines and help maintain a safe, respectful environment
- Serve as a positive presence and advocate for Recovery Café members
- Participate in team meetings and trainings
- Support café events and occasional evening/weekend needs
- Assist with trainings for members and volunteers
- Pitch in wherever needed to support café operations
