About The Position

Performs responsible semiskilled custodial and building maintenance work in the care of cleaning of the Recreation Department.
Performs work in a variety of Parks and Recreation maintenance and construction tasks; does related work as required.
Mows and maintains athletic fields.
Repairs and installs playground and park equipment.
Painting and repairs equipment, etc.
Performs work of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature when necessary.
Operates light equipment when necessary.
Maintains appearance of Recreation grounds and facilities.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of citizens or employees of the City of Lebanon.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Valid TN Driver’s License with clear motor vehicle records.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
