About The Position

The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Recreation Center Assistant - PT. This Part time Non-Exempt position is based on a 29-hour work week with an hourly pay $16.9183 - $21.1478. This position will report to 17 S M Street, Lake Worth Beach, 33460. Evenings and weekends required. JOB SUMMARY: Semi-skilled manual work in the care and maintenance of the recreation center facilities and general assistance in recreation center programs and activities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of methods and procedures necessary to routine servicing and maintenance of public buildings.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and some experience in the maintenance and servicing of public buildings.
  • All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation.
  • Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment.
  • Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of manual tasks necessary to clean, maintain, and repair assigned recreation center facilities
  • Assist with program personnel in the preparation of recreation facilities for scheduled events
  • Assists in general servicing of patrons
  • Sets up, arranges and operates lighting, sound and other equipment necessary to recreation center programs
  • Assists in maintaining order at center activities
  • Issues a variety of recreational supplies and equipment and effects their collection
  • Collects monies for issuance of permits and various program fees and charges
