About The Position

Full-time employment opportunity working for Pima County Parks & Recreation in Ajo, AZ. This position is tasked with coordinating year-round sports programming for youth, teens, and adults. Provides recreation services, programs or instruction in one specialized or specific recreation area This position is located in Ajo, Arizona - 120 miles west of Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

1,040 hours of experience in the specialized or specific recreation area. (Relevant education in the specialized area may be substituted for experience.)
Six months working in recreation and not less than 100 hours of experience working as a volunteer in the specialized or specific recreation area.
Valid driver license is at time of application.
Valid AZ driver license is at time of appointment.
CPR/AED/First Aid within 2 months of hire date.

Nice To Haves

Experience with/knowledge of instructing and leading groups of program participants of varying ages in a recreational setting.
Experience with/knowledge of planning, coordinating, and implementing recreational/public programs and/or special events.
Experience with/knowledge of popular sports fundamental skills and rules.

Responsibilities

Organizes, conducts and guides participants in classes, workshops, events or programs in specified area
Computer skills for registration systems, creating reports, promotional materials, maintaining records and communication
Provide training and monitors participants and other employees in proper use of exercise, recreation and other equipment
Assists with registration of participants including utilizing registration software
Ensures safety and cleanliness of recreation facilities
Requisitions supplies and monitors use and care of equipment and supplies
Maintains Pima County property such as equipment, facilities, supplies
Maintains records and prepares reports
May be required to collect money, prepare and make bank deposits or process payments utilizing registration software
May be required to obtain and maintain a National Fitness Certification
