All older adult services are funded by the New York City Department for the Aging. We help promote active lives. Our Senior Centers offer a range of activities and services, including meals, social services, educational workshops, exercise classes, discussion groups, games, art classes, lectures, workshops, health screenings, organized outings and more. STATEMENT OF THE JOB: The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the full complement of educational and recreational activities and programs for the Older Adult Center including maintaining all the linkages to resources. Recreation coordinators organize and schedule activities for seniors, design and monitor recreation events, and lead activities to help seniors stay active, improve fitness of mind and body and have fun. They work with groups in centers, parks and other settings.
