About The Position

The Recreation Program Lead position is an integral part of the City of Greeley’s Recreation Division and is responsible for the on-site supervision and management of recreation facilities, services, programs, and events. The Recreation Program Lead will report to the Recreation Coordinator and serve as a main point of contact and staff member in charge in the absence of full-time professional staff, providing oversight and leadership to hourly staff and volunteers. Upon hire and undergoing all necessary training, the Recreation Program Lead is expected to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment, effectively serving all areas of the facility and/or program.

Requirements

  • One to three (1-3) years of recreation experience.
  • Three years of customer service experience.
  • Current Driver’s License including clean driving record
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required.

  • Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate positive youth-centered recreation programs.
  • Aids in the planning, oversight, and delivery of Greeley Recreation drop-in programming, special events, and other various services, supporting and leading other part-time staff including, but not limited to, Guest Service Representatives and Child Care Attendants.
  • Engages participants (and their guardians) effectively and productively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Explain and enforce facility and/or program rules, policies, and procedures while positively representing the City.
  • Provide first-rate customer support to members, guests, participants, and the public, resolving immediate concerns as best as possible with the established guidelines and framework of the facility and/or program.
  • Act quickly, calmly, and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Support full-time professional staff with administrative tasks and projects.
  • Attend and assist with staff meetings and trainings
  • Supports the Operation Coordinator in coordinating and communicating with contracted instructors and service providers
  • Holds office and program hours, performing administrative tasks and program facilitation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
