About The Position

The Recycling Specialist provides subject matter expertise for all process and financial elements related to the various State bottle bill programs. The nature of the work will require taking complicated material and producing easy to understand memos, strategic proposals, and financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline preferred
  • 1-2 years’ professional experience preferred
  • Strong computer analysis skills required, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas simply to a broad audience
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams matrixed organizations and external stakeholders
  • Occasional travel and extended working hours depending upon business needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to leadership and field resources on end-to-end recycling processes
  • Produce reporting as required by management and state/local authorities to meet deadlines
  • File appropriate state tax and escheat returns
  • Serve as primary Company interface to, and assist in contact negotiations and recommendations with, industry partners (e.g. Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) operators, and comingling groups)
  • Support recycling-related lobbying activities
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to ensure products are updated and registered with proper regulatory and industry partners
  • Create, develop, and enhance comprehensive financial models for near-in recycling initiatives, and analysis and recommendations informing future Company redemption strategy
  • Deposit & Handling-related business analysis
  • Deposit & Handling-related journal entries and reconciliations
  • Conduct Recycling-related audits as appropriate
