Operating Engineer – JLL What this job involves: As an Operating Engineer at JLL's specialized campus facility, you'll be responsible for the critical operation and maintenance of sophisticated industrial systems including solar turbines, heat recovery steam generators, and high-pressure boilers. This role demands deep technical expertise in one primary craft area while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities across electrical, plumbing, and central utility plant operations. You'll ensure seamless facility operations that support our life sciences client's mission-critical work, directly contributing to JLL's commitment to creating advanced, sustainable real estate solutions that enable breakthrough innovation and research. What your day-to-day will look like: • Operate and maintain specialized equipment including solar turbines, heat recovery steam generators, and high-pressure boilers to ensure uninterrupted facility operations • Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance and repairs across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and building control systems while maintaining strict compliance with state and county regulations • Manage facility inventory, vendor relationships, and procurement processes including purchase order preparation, delivery verification, and contractor quality monitoring • Utilize CMMS systems to track all work orders, document maintenance activities, and analyze monthly service request data to identify and resolve recurring operational issues • Conduct regular equipment inspections, record system readings, and make precise adjustments to optimize performance while ensuring safety protocols are followed • Coordinate with clients, management, and operations teams on project timelines, workload priorities, and communication regarding facility issues and maintenance schedules • Perform general facility maintenance tasks including furniture installation, equipment moves, and event setup coordination while minimizing disruption to client operations
