Lifebanc, is the federally designated organ, eye and tissue recovery organization that serves 20 counties in Northeast Ohio. Put simply, we facilitate and coordinate organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation in our community and educate the public on the importance of our mission. The Referral Coordinator II supports referral services by remotely reviewing medical charts of patients referred to the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) to evaluate donor suitability, monitor care progression, and provide accurate information for clinical and family care support in accordance with Lifebanc and regulatory agency policies and protocols. This role works closely with the Administrator on Call (AOC) and maintains clinical expertise to support appropriate utilization of on-site staff for direct family care and high-priority clinical needs. The Referral Coordinator II communicates pertinent medical, social, and diagnostic information to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safe, timely, and equitable utilization of organs and tissues for transplantation and research, while supporting optimal outcomes for donor families and recipients and maintaining strong relationships with hospital partners.
