This position is responsible for the removal, surface cleaning and installation of the refractory materials per owner/company requirements. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman or Supervisor; Supports development of procedures for performance of variety of duties / performs complex duties within established guidelines. No per diem available

Requirements

  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place

Responsibilities

  • Lay bricks, stone and other masonry units in building industrial infrastructures.
  • Read and interpret the sketches and blueprints.
  • Cut and trim bricks using hammers or chisels or masonry saws and other hand and power tools
  • Lining or relining furnaces and boilers, kilns and similar installations using acid-resistant bricks, concretes, plastics or other materials
  • Restoring, cleaning or painting existing brick structures
