The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for supporting industrial maintenance operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance. This role focuses on installing, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial refrigeration and utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, steam, water, gas, and compressed air systems. Key responsibilities include monitoring system performance, adjusting controls to maintain proper pressure and temperature, and diagnosing equipment issues using root cause analysis to implement long-term solutions. The technician also maintains and services boiler and cooling systems, including condensate return, feed water, economizers, and chemical treatment systems. A strong understanding of ammonia properties and safe handling procedures is essential. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance, including Process Safety Management (PSM), Lockout/Tagout procedures, and food safety programs such as USDA, HACCP, GMP, and SQF. Additionally, the technician tracks performance metrics (KPIs) to support continuous improvement and ensures all maintenance activities align with company safety and quality standards.
