About The Position

Linde Gases and Equipment Inc. is seeking a Region Project and Productivity Manager to join our team located in the East Region. The Region Project and Productivity Manager is responsible for project development, engineering, and successful execution within all appropriate guidelines. Furthermore, process support for industrial, specialty, and medical gas operations. The Region Project and Productivity Manager performs project engineering work from design to start-up in accordance with Linde policies. Participates on project and technical teams and provides technical guidance to plant operations. The Region Project and Productivity Manager works independently and makes technical decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost, productivity, and other benefits. With limited supervision, the Region Project and Productivity Manager creates design layouts and equipment lists. Region Project and Productivity Manager works with Linde employees and vendors to determine the best and safest design. Communicates and collaborates as needed with project management, customers, operations, procurement, safety, and business groups. Develops and implements innovative solutions for process, plant, and project-based problems. All activities will require excellent organization and communication. Furthermore, the Region Project and Productivity Manager has working knowledge of Production Management and can intervene/support where needs arise throughout the East Region from an instructional standpoint. Other areas of expertise include but are not limited to Best Practice Sharing/Implementation, Development of Working Stock, and Methods of Overtime Control. Moreover, the Region Project and Productivity Manager will have full accountability of East Region productivity goals and initiatives. This includes conducting LEAN events on location, review of processes and procedures that could generate savings, as well as other initiatives that will lead to cost savings. Due to the nature of exempt roles, work hours may extend beyond the standard schedule when necessary to meet organizational demands, leadership responsibilities, and business objectives. This may include occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on the role and the needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Strong financial aptitude with baseline knowledge of general P&L/General Ledger statements
  • Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, have strong communications skills.
  • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as a leader or participant on a team.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel depending on the project queue; travel could range from 25 to 75%25.

Responsibilities

  • Develops project plans by reviewing project proposals and objectives
  • Determines project requirements by reviewing product requirements, customer specifications, and performance standards
  • Determines project schedule by reviewing project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  • Executes project plan and maintains project schedule, monitors project progress; coordinates activities; resolves problems
  • Responsible for resolving engineering issues with proposals or projects
  • Controls project plan, schedule changes, and recommends actions
  • Controls project costs and approves expenditures
  • Ensures compliance with Linde policy and government regulations
  • Participate in final field safety inspections
  • Troubleshoots plant process equipment problems and implements solutions
  • Executes various aspects of the Linde Safety Program
  • Oversee and Direct Hazardous and Universal Waste activities within the facility
  • Implements Basic and Advanced Production Management Techniques where needed
  • Develop and implement working stock reports
  • Understands and can execute Best Practices between different Plant locations
  • Understands the control levers for Production overtime and can implement methods to reduce as needed
  • Partners with Senior Management team & Project Team to ensure Region meets/exceeds its productivity goals
  • Apply Lean and/or Six Sigma tools which result in significant productivity improvements
  • Identifies areas of potential cost reduction
  • Gathers & presents relevant data in order to support findings of potential cost reduction
  • Visits Plants & Branches to uncover new revenue streams
  • Manages projects & financials
  • Monitors external/ internal trends and makes recommendations to improve productivity procedures, methods and tools
  • Accountable for business productivity targets
  • Conduct LEAN events
  • Utilization of 6-sigma tools
