About The Position

Apartment Regional Community Manager Steve Brown Apartments, a leader in Madison's rental market since 1980, is looking for a driven yet humble leader who is ready to join our senior management team at the on-site level. What You'll Do All Day. Regional Managers wear many hats. You'll spend much of your day leading and supporting multiple on-site teams while building strong relationships with residents, prospects, and vendors. This role oversees the daily operations of a community of over 1,000 apartment units, ensuring strong financial performance, smooth operations, and an excellent resident experience. Your days will include coaching and developing team members, collaborating with departments like marketing and HR, managing budgets and occupancy goals, overseeing facilities and maintenance projects, coordinating vendors, and addressing resident needs. You'll also help guide leasing strategy, review leases, support retention efforts, and ensure properties meet company standards. Every day brings something new-problem solving, strategic planning, team development, and opportunities to improve the community experience. What It Takes. Successful Regional Managers are strong leaders and communicators who enjoy building relationships, solving problems, and driving results. This role requires someone who is organized, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while leading and developing teams. Candidates should have either a high school diploma and seven years of industry experience, or a bachelor's degree and five years of industry experience, along with a Wisconsin Real Estate License (or the ability to obtain one) and a valid Wisconsin driver's license. What You Get in Exchange. This is a salaried position, with an additional potential annual profit sharing. You'll also benefit from our training and social events, recognition programs, complete medical and dental plans, supplemental insurance, heath savings & flexible spending accounts, rental discount, paid time off, a company-matched 401k plan, continuing education reimbursement, and more! Our attentive senior leadership team works alongside you, developing rising rock stars for our growth-driven internal promotion track. When and Where We'll See You. We're currently hiring a leader for our Lucky and Regent/Suburbs portfolios. As a full-time employee, you'll work Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexibility for extended hours or weekends as needed. We're Unexpectedly Kind and Unapologetically Driven. As a locally owned, privately managed company, Steve Brown Apartments is dedicated to improving and supporting the community we call home. We're champions of innovation, professionalism, and growth. Our commitment to quality and service and our unwavering focus on providing our residents with a hassle-free living experience have made us one of Madison's favorite rental companies and a four-time winner of Madison Magazine's Best Places to Work. If you're looking for a company where hard work is tempered by play, you get autonomy to develop a winning team, and no two days are alike, apply now! Our Application Process. Applications and resumes are required. All potential candidates start with a 15-minute phone call, and those we'd like to meet are invited to interview on site or virtually if you're not local. We typically interview each candidate at least two, sometimes four times before making an offer. We hire for the long term, not for the moment, and take the time to get it right.
