About The Position

This position is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and operational execution of Marsh’s corporate security program across North, Central, and South America. This role ensures the safety and security of colleagues, clients, facilities, and assets while enabling business continuity and resilience across a complex, highly regulated, and globally interconnected professional services environment. The position partners closely with Executive Leadership, Business Leaders, Legal, Human Resources, Corporate Risk, Information Technology and Compliance to deliver a risk-based, intelligence-led security strategy aligned with Marsh’s values, client commitments, and enterprise risk management framework. This is a hybrid position with three days required working from our midtown Manhattan office. There will be up to 20% travel across the Americas, with occasional global travel.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, intelligence, or a related field, including regional or global leadership responsibility.
  • Experience managing a global travel safety program is strongly preferred, working with high level vendors, and governmental agencies such as the U.S. State Department’s Overseas Security Advisory Counsel.
  • Demonstrated experience leading security programs across multiple countries in the Americas.
  • Strong background in risk assessment, crisis management, executive protection, and investigations.
  • Proven ability to operate at the executive level and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing vendors and outsourced security services in complex environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in professional services, financial services, insurance, or risk management organizations.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CEM, or equivalent.
  • Fluency in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments for offices, colleagues, executives, and key events.
  • Monitor geopolitical, criminal, civil unrest, and terrorism-related risks impacting the Americas.
  • Integrate intelligence and risk analysis into initiative-taking security planning and decision-making.
  • Lead regional response to security incidents, emergencies, and crises, including natural disasters, workplace violence, civil unrest, and kidnap/extortion events.
  • Oversee crisis management planning, exercises, and after-action reviews in coordination with business continuity and enterprise resilience teams.
  • Function as a senior member of regional crisis management teams during significant incidents.
  • Provide risk-based executive protection and secure travel programs for senior leadership.
  • Oversee travel risk management, including vendor partnerships, traveler tracking, and emergency assistance protocols.
  • Advise executives on personal security risks, secure movement, and situational awareness.
  • Oversee security operations across corporate offices, including guard services in New York City, Urbandale Iowa, and West Lake Texas.
  • Support access control, CCTV, and alarm systems in the America’s working with the Director of Physical Security Planning.
  • Manage regional security vendors, contracts, and service-level agreements to ensure quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Partner with Physical Security Infrastructure, Real Estate and Workplace teams on secure office design, buildouts, and relocations.
  • Oversee internal and external investigations related to security incidents, misconduct, threats, or loss prevention.
  • Conduct risk assessments on potential Workplace Violence issues, work with Human Resources, and Legal mitigate threats, and implement strategies to prevent incidents form occurring in the office environment.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and ethical standards across all areas in the Americas.
  • Support Legal, HR, and Compliance with sensitive matters requiring security expertise.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional security team.
  • Foster strong partnerships with business leadership, Human Resources, Information Technology, Security, Legal, Risk Management, and external law enforcement and government agencies.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness, preparedness, and accountability across the organization.
