About The Position

Amcor is seeking a skilled and motivated Regional Field Service Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource for facilities within the assigned region. In this role, you will partner with plant personnel at all levels to provide on-site technical expertise. Core responsibilities include assembling, setting up, fabricating, debugging, and commissioning new, used, and rebuilt automated equipment, along with conducting routine service visits.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in related studies or mechatronics is preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years combined education or related work experience is required, Automation is desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other design software for viewing detailed drawings.
  • Efficient in PLC Controls and able to integrate/troubleshoot with Robotic applications: Allen Bradley, Pro Face, Yaskawa, Fanuc, Wittmann; Rockwell- Studio 5000/RSLogix5000/RSLogic500 PLC
  • Working knowledge of machine vision systems: Cognex, Keyence, Banner, CI Vision
  • Experience with Servo Systems/VFD’s/Stepper Drives
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of mechanical systems & troubleshooting skills are required.
  • A general knowledge of AC & DC electrical circuitry and pneumatic systems is required.
  • Confident, motivated and the ability to work independently with manufacturing plants and corporate groups.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 60%, based out of own region as primary location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical support, including installation, assembly, disassembly, and rebuilding of automated systems.
  • Provide electrical support such as troubleshooting, panel building, field wiring, and component setup.
  • Optimize the performance of automated equipment, inspection systems, and robotic work cells.
  • Serve as a liaison to Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams as needed.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to develop new machine platforms using strong critical-thinking skills.
  • Work independently on assembly, setup, and integration of automation equipment.
  • Partner with vendors to define project requirements and develop equipment specifications.
  • Provide technical training and instruction on standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in safety, cost-savings, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives.
  • Comply with Amcor, industry, and regulatory procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by applying appropriate safety standards.
