About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Warehouse Operations/Regional Director Procurement, this position will oversee all Warehouse and Receiving activities at Caesars New Orleans, Harrah’s Gulf Coast, Horseshoe Lake Charles, Horseshoe Bossier City, Horseshoe Tunica and Harrah’s Pompano according to Company policy and established department procedures. The position will be based at Caesars New Orleans and require approximately 25% travel to the other regional properties. Responsible for ensuring direct reports (Warehouse Supervisors) are well-versed and trained in their positions and capable of performing successfully without direct supervision. Additionally, the successful candidate must act as a liaison between property stakeholders (F&B, Facilities, Hotel, etc.) and Corporate Sourcing/Warehouse leaders. Conduct periodic meetings on a set cadence to solicit feedback and troubleshoot any pain points. Must maintain a good rapport with Finance leaders, as property warehouse employees report administratively to them on a dotted line.

Requirements

  • Must have strong communication skills and exhibit excellent leadership qualities
  • College or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Minimum of 4-5 years warehousing and distribution experience is required, which should include two years supervisory experience at an advanced level
  • Driver’s License required
  • Medical USDOT Card may be required
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, extra time, and weekends or holidays as needed
  • Must possess the ability to respond to visual and aural cues
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Nice To Haves

  • Stratton Warren and Oracle procurement systems experience is preferred
  • Food and Beverage experience is preferred
  • Powered Industrial Equipment experience and certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain open lines of communication with direct reports to ensure warehouse and receiving operations are operating as prescribed
  • Train supervisors on Warehouse Policy and guide them in the training of their staff
  • Conduct periodic Safety audits and ensure all operators of powered industrial equipment are properly certified and any company truck drivers are properly licensed
  • Champion a safe working environment and a Safety-First culture
  • Conduct periodic reviews of receiving operations to ensure compliance with SOPs, including food handling, specification, quality, and data entry
  • Conduct periodic reviews of inventory storerooms to ensure the rooms are well organized and have cleaning schedules in place
  • Implement KPIs for inventory variances (gross and net dollar, and number of items)
  • Review monthly physical inventory results and have supervisor provide explanations for variances that exceed thresholds
  • Review usage history and recommend changes to par levels as necessary
  • Ensure cycle counts are performed routinely and proper research procedures are in place
  • Ensure procedures are in place to document the transfer of accountability for all deliveries made (direct deliveries, packages, freight, F&B, inventory orders)
  • Work with supervisors on establishing operating hours and work schedules that align with Company goals and provide effective, efficient operations and optimal guest service
  • Ensure supervisors maintain open dialogue with Buyers to alert for any delivery issues such as damaged, spoiled, or shorted items, or other vendor issues
  • Provide guidance and oversight of Mailroom operation and Vital Records storage process (if applicable at property)
  • Administer annual performance evaluation of supervisors, and review/approve evaluations conducted by supervisors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
