About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on dedicated mechanic who’s ready to lead. As a Regional Mechanic Manager, you’ll oversee maintenance operations across multiple bikeshare, kayak, and micro mobility markets, ensuring fleets are safe, reliable, and available for customers. You’ll be both a working technician and a coach supporting and developing local part-time mechanics, standardizing processes, and keeping operations running smoothly and safe across locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, thrives in an outdoor environment, and is passionate about safe recreation and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Dedication to safety through quality maintenance.
  • Proven hands-on experience as a mechanic or service technician, preferably in bikeshare, micro mobility, or recreational equipment maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge in areas of brake repair, assembly, and general vehicle maintenance.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed, primarily during peak usage season. Travel may be required up to 50% of the time during peak periods.
  • Responsibility in managing receipts, daily accountability, and following company policies.
  • Comfortable working independently with ability to self manage and produce high productivity.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Escalate safety concerns immediately and recommend corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic processes.
  • Comfortable with physical demands, including lifting and moving equipment.
  • Passion for biking, kayaking, micro mobility, and genuine appreciation for the beautiful outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair routine maintenance on bikeshare bicycles, kayaks, and related equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, clear and accurate documentation, and follow through.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance schedules, completed work, and outstanding repair needs.
  • Guarantee and promote a culture of safety within the mechanic team and company wide.
  • Provide excellent customer service when engaging with partners, program staff, and renters.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and parts inventory across multiple locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections; ensure equipment meets internal standards and any local requirements.
  • Maintain high fleet availability by prioritizing critical repairs and proactively addressing recurring issues.
  • Travel overnight as needed (up to 50% during peak season) to conduct system audits, deliver training, and provide repair support to local mechanics.
