About The Position

Position Purpose: The Regional Replenishment Manager within the Company plays a pivotal role in optimizing inventory management and enhancing service delivery to business customers across a designated geographical area or product line. This position is responsible for setting and achieving strategic inventory goals, ensuring the timely availability of products, and evaluating inventory efficiency through rigorous data analysis and collaboration with field leadership and supplier relations. By maintaining strong partnerships with internal teams and external vendors, the role ensures alignment with the organization's broader objectives, driving operational excellence and contributing to the Company's continued growth and leadership in the distribution sector.

Requirements

  • Must have prior experience in purchasing Lumber in the Long Island or Tri State area.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management or a related role with a proven track record of success.
  • Direct experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a corporate environment.
  • Exposure to inventory replenishment strategies within a distribution or supply chain context.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI or similar platforms, to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with an emphasis on prior experience in Agility Software considered advantageous.
  • Strong analytical abilities to evaluate and interpret data effectively to drive decision-making processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a capacity to convey complex information succinctly.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional lumber procurement strategy by managing dimensional, treated, engineered wood, and specialty lumber inventories, aligning purchases with seasonal demand, housing starts, and local construction trends to ensure consistent product availability and margin optimization.
  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with sawmills, reload centers, treating facilities, and lumber wholesalers to negotiate allocations, truckload buys, forward contracts, and mill-direct programs that improve cost, lead time, and service levels.
  • Monitor lumber commodity market conditions (pricing indexes, supply disruptions, freight constraints, weather impacts, and mill curtailments) and proactively adjust buy points, safety stock, and forward purchasing strategies to mitigate volatility and protect working capital.
  • Partner with branch leadership and yard operations teams to optimize lumber storage, pack sizes, unit turns, and handling efficiencies, reducing damage, shrink, and aging inventory while improving yard flow and customer service readiness.
  • Analyze lumber-specific KPIs including truckload utilization, unit cost per thousand board feet (MBF), freight per unit, cut-to-length or special-order performance, and product mix profitability to continuously refine replenishment strategy and maximize gross margin.
  • Spearhead strategic inventory control by collaborating with field leadership to establish and meet inventory goals, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal inventory levels and turnover rates.
  • Foster internal and external collaborative relationships with Regional Managers, Branch Managers, and Inventory Vendors, ensuring alignment and seamless communication to support regional inventory objectives and corporate goals.
