About The Position

Are you passionate about supporting breast cancer patients and guiding them through their treatment journey? We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse Breast Oncology Navigator to work closely with our multidisciplinary team. This role provides personalized care coordination, education, and support to help patients navigate their treatment options and improve outcomes. This position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends, holidays, nights, or call. After onboarding and training, one remote workday per week may be permitted. Underpinned by our core values of Compassion, Team, Excellence, and Purpose, the Breast Oncology RN Navigator will work with our cancer care team to coordinate and manage the care needs of breast cancer patients, developing personalized care plans. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely, coordinated, and patient-centered care. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential as you serve as the primary contact for patients and the care team. Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with the department provision of care.
  • Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software.
  • Requires clinical work experience, medical terminology.
  • Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations and policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Oncology and/or surgical experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care across all phases of treatment and survivorship
  • Provide education and emotional support tailored to breast cancer patients
  • Assist providers and team members in outpatient clinic settings
  • Support outpatient procedures, including lab collections and specimen handling
  • Aid in medication management, including education and administration support
  • Facilitate prior authorizations for medications and procedures
  • Prepare charts and documentation for new patient visits
  • Collect data, enter orders, and assist during high-volume days
  • Participate in unit and organizational committees focused on process improvement
  • Engage in daily huddles and scheduled staff meetings
