Position Summary The Emergency Department RN delivers patient‑centered care for individuals with medical, trauma, and behavioral health needs. This role is primarily in the behavioral health unit to provide safe assessment, de‑escalation, and management of patients experiencing psychiatric crises or co‑occurring conditions. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, compassionate, and safe care. Key Responsibilities Perform triage, assessments, and emergency interventions for diverse patient populations. Complete behavioral health assessments and implement safety protocols, including suicide risk screenings and observation levels. Utilize de‑escalation techniques. Collaborate with psychiatry, social work, security, and ED providers to support patient care and disposition. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory standards and departmental policies. Participate in required behavioral health training, emergency skills validation, and ongoing competency development. Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient observations. Adhere to EMTALA, HIPAA, organizational policy, and state/federal regulations. Qualifications Active RN license. One year of Emergency or acute care nursing experience preferred. BLS and ACLS/PALS required Behavioral health experience preferred but not required.
