In-basket Registered Nurse- Cardio Vascular Surgery (PRN)
About The Position
The PRN RN provides flexible, as-needed clinical support managing EMR inbasket communications across multiple cardiovascular specialties. This role focuses on patient triage, medication management, test result review, care coordination, and patient education in collaboration with providers. Supported populations are Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology, General Cardiology, and Vascular Surgery. This role blends autonomy, teamwork, and clinical problem-solving — all while giving you the flexibility PRN work provides. You’ll become an essential link between patients and providers, helping keep cardiovascular care seamless, safe, and patient-centered. Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.

- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
