Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Strongly desired: experience in PACU or Day Surgery; candidates with 3+ years of hospital floor experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Day Surgery, including monitoring vital signs, pain control, and post-operative recovery in accordance with hospital policies and clinical protocols.
• Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans; execute physician and nursing orders, document patient status, and communicate changes effectively to the healthcare team.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning, collaborating with anesthesia, surgical teams, and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient patient transitions and optimal clinical outcomes.
• Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM with flexible hours to accommodate surgery schedules; 8-hour shifts with occasional weekend PACU and Day Surgery call coverage.
