About The Position

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Float Pool, supporting Medical Surgical / Telemetry and Critical Care units across Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital. This role offers nurses the opportunity to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a variety of clinical environments while broadening skills, building confidence, and gaining valuable exposure across specialties. Work Locations: UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Your recruiter and hiring manager will clarify expectations during the interview process. Primary Work Shift: Rotational Compensation Range: $44.77 - $67.15 per hour, depending on experience You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours. ----- Sign-On Incentives: Up to $25,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility requirements. Flexible Scheduling Options: Current opportunities may include: Full-time, part-time, and per diem roles Day, Evening, and Night shift options Flexible Float Pool scheduling across multiple units Weekender Program with enhanced compensation for nurses who commit to weekend coverage Schedule details and availability will be reviewed during the interview process.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited school of nursing
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse
  • CPR within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
  • Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
  • Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
  • Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
  • Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
  • Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
  • Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
  • Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
  • Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
  • Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
