Registered Nurse I (Spring 2026 New Grad Blitz) - 9C Short Stay
About The Position
Located at MUSC Health’s main hospital, 9 Center is a nine-bed ER overflow, Admission and Holding unit open 24/7. 9Center is designed to help alleviate boarding in the Emergency Departments. The unit serves direct and new admissions coming into the hospital from the ED under the medical-surgical service lines with a variety of diagnoses. 9 Center is designated and designed for the short-term treatment, observation until discharge, or next day transfer to inpatient units. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
