About The Position

Main 6 West is a 15-bed Specialty Medicine & Acute Care unit where no two days are ever the same! We care for adult patients with complex liver disease and a wide range of acute medical conditions. Our nurses play an important role in supporting patients with acute kidney injury, liver failure, cirrhosis, and those preparing for or recovering from a liver transplant along with many other specialty medical conditions. We are committed to professional growth and clinical excellence. Nurses on 6 West build a strong foundation in specialty medicine while refining time management, prioritization, and critical thinking skills that translate across multiple practice settings. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.

  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process
  • Delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
