About The Position

A busy acute-care provider in the inpatient medical-surgical healthcare sector serving the Tampa Bay metropolitan area. This onsite role supports a high-volume med/surg unit delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care across diverse adult populations.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in state of employment
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (e.g., Epic)
• Medication administration
• Intravenous (IV) therapy

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN)
• Experience with Cerner EHR
• Prior charge or lead experience on a med/surg unit

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients—admissions, assessments, medication administration, and discharge planning.
• Safely administer medications and intravenous therapies, including titratable and high-risk meds, following hospital policies and safety checks.
• Continuously monitor telemetry and vital signs; identify and escalate clinical deterioration or arrhythmias to the appropriate care team.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care with physicians, case managers, therapists, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and throughput.
• Document timely, accurate patient information in the Electronic Health Record and execute individualized care plans focused on recovery and readmission prevention.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, infection control, and patient-safety initiatives to support measurable improvements in care delivery.
