DEPARTMENT: Obstetrics JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse - OB SHIFT: FTE 0.9 (72 hours bi-weekly),Nights (12-hour shifts 5p-5a) QUALIFICATIONS Must have associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Current RN license in the State of Indiana. One year of clinical bedside experience preferred. CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire. Successful completion of approved intermediate fetal monitoring course one year from date of hire. Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation upon completion of orientation. Breastfeeding class preferred. S.T.A.B.L.E. certification preferred Obstetrics experience and knowledge of specialized OB equipment, instruments and procedures preferred. JOB SUMMARY Provides nursing care for Maternal/Child utilizing the Nursing Process. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Exemplifies good customer service. Regular reliable attendance. Ability to get along with others. Demonstrates proficient use of email. Accomplishes goals set for self and by supervisor. Has completed skills checklist for unit. Demonstrates use of the nursing process in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care. Completes Nursing Care Plans per routine. Demonstrates proficiency of Pyxis, EPIC and IntelliSpace Perinatal electronic health record systems. Charts on appropriate forms in clear, concise manner, using correct spelling. Administers medication and treatments proficiently. Verify patient charges are accurate. Documentation complete and accurate. Demonstrates support of colleagues and administration. Follows Standard Precaution guidelines. Effectively communicates with physicians and staff. Delegates tasks to be performed to appropriate personnel. Attends at least two continuing education offerings per year. Familiar with fire plan, disaster, tornado and bomb threat procedures. Maintains confidentiality. Should thrive under pressure. Oversee education and safety of patients.
