About The Position

The Surgery RN monitors the procedures as they occur in the operating rooms. During operations and other surgical procedures, the circulator assists by acting as an intermediary between the operating room staff and the rest of the hospital. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient, working side by side with scrub nurses to assist in maintenance of the sterile field, preparation of the patient and operation room for assigned procedure, assess the patient's condition before, during and post-surgery, assists providers in development of the plan of care and updates as needed throughout the procedure.

Requirements

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current Mississippi RN licensure is required.
• BLS certification is required
• ACLS is required (or within 30 days of hire into the position for new certifications & prior to performing Moderate Sedation).
• Two (2) years operating room, surgical or circulator experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in MedSurg and/or ambulatory surgery is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• CORN (Certified Operating Room Nurse) or other nationally recognized certification in area of expertise is preferred.
