About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team at Geneva General Hospital. As a member of our Float Pool, you will work across multiple units where assistance is needed, including ICU, Med/Surg (3 North & 2 West), and more. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you can develop a broad range of nursing skills while making a meaningful impact on the care of patients in need.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Registered Nursing.
Licensure: Current New York State RN License.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification may be obtained during Clinical Orientation. Basic Coronary Care certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire. CPI certification must be completed within 1 year of hire. Both CPI and Coronary Care courses are provided through Finger Lakes Health’s Educational Department.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

Float pool experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients across a variety of units, including ICU, Med/Surg, and Emergency Department (ED).
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs and create individualized care plans.
Deliver direct care and evaluate patient progress throughout their treatment episode.
Provide patient and family education, focusing on self-care, lifestyle changes, and long-term health management.
Develop specialized skills in cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and critical care.
Offer emotional support and promote comfort in a Healing Environment.
