Work hours: Part Time 7p-7a – Rotating Weekends and Holidays
Department Highlights
12 bed unit with 1 to 4 ratios. We are a Level IV Trauma Center that cares for emergent cases that provides quality care to the Stephenville, TX and surrounding areas. Chest pain certified and stroke certified.
Our team is like a family and works together like no other to provide compassionate care to our patients. Challenges – rural -sometimes you are busy/sometimes you arent’ – working with traumas – no additional resources.
Rural ER – no other hospital so can handle a lot of different traumas/high acuity. – even pediatrics and geriatrics and all walks of life. Horse, farming, atv and drowning accidents.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
• 1+ years as an RN or completion of an RN residency program required.
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days required
• PALS – within 90 days required
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• TNCC and ENPC – within 12 months of hire required
• demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
• possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
• have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Nice To Haves

• Current ED strongly preferred
• Charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
