Registered Nurse Endoscopy PRN Days Our mission is to be a leader in providing quality patient care by promoting excellence and innovation in Endoscopy. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to nursing care The Endoscopy staff presently consists of a Nurse Director, Assistant Director, Clinical Instructor, Office Manager, two Charge Nurses, 26 Registered Nurses that are practicing with a current Texas License, 10 Endoscopy Technicians, one Porter, two Health Unit Coordinators, and 5 Office Assistants working directly under the Vice President for ICU and Endoscopy Services. The Department of Anesthesiology provides medical direction and coverage with a full time attending and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Therapies include but are not limited to: -Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), radiofrequency ablations, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding tube placement (PEG), colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, dilatation (Maloney, Savory, pneumatic, and through the scope balloons), manometry (esophageal and anorectal), pH studies, liver biopsy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), paracentesis, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) and intragastric balloon placements. Radiographic contrast studies are performed in the Endoscopy Center with the GI physician operating the radiological equipment. -Pulmonary procedures include but are not limited to: Bronchoscopy, bronchoscopy with transbronchial biopsy, bronchial thermoplasty, rigid bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, pleurx catheter placements, pleuroscopy, thoracentesis, laryngoscopy, brachytherapy, endobronchial ultrasounds (EBUS) and electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopies (ENB). -Minimally invasive cardiac procedures include: Transesophogeal Echocardiogram and Cardioversions. Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
  • Must maintain a current BLS, ACLS, & PALS certification from American Heart Association
  • BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
  • Experienced RN
